About the Company

Phoenix Management Solutions provides shared administrative support services to intermodal transportation motor carriers across the United States. We are adding a CDL Driver Processor to our San Antonio team.


About the Role

CDL Driver Processors are responsible for executing the end-to-end onboarding experience for CDL drivers across our network. This is a critical role to our growth and is one that requires at least 1-3 years of experience working in transportation or logistics, ideally working with CDL drivers regulated by DOT and FMCSA. This is an on-site position that is part of a larger recruitment and retention team in San Antonio, Texas.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Application Processing: Review, verify, and process new driver applications efficiently.
  • Onboarding coordination: Manage daily execution of end-to-end onboarding process for new CDL drivers, including scheduling drug screens, orientation, documentation, and communication.
  • Documentation Management: Collect, verify, and process all necessary documentation from new hires, such as driver’s licenses, medical certificates, background checks, and drug test results.
  • Compliance: Ensure all onboarding activities comply with company policy, FMCSA regulations, and other relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Communication: Serve as the point of contact for both terminal personnel and new drivers throughout the onboarding process, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Safety, Terminals/Business Units, Recruiting, and HR teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience and alignment with company goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to read and write English (Bilingual skills in Spanish required).
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing commercial driving, including Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, DOT regulations, and vehicle inspection requirements preferred.
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and excellence among CDL drivers.
  • Commitment to collaborating seamlessly within teams through service-oriented communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel, will be trained on proprietary software, where applicable. Previous experience with TenStreet preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills while handling multiple priorities and tasks at any given time.
  • Adhere to site daily work schedule 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT, with additional time as required for successful execution.
  • Availability to effectively serve standard business hours of East coast and West Coast time zones.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in transportation and/or logistics required.
  • Prior experience working with a multi-state employer a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer performing required duties of the position.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. without assistance as part of the regular duties of the position.
  • Must be able to periodically walk upstairs, stand, bend, and stoop while reaching for accounting files.
  • Demonstrate ability to stay focused in a fast paced, sometimes noisy work environment.

Summary

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position with full health insurance after 30-day waiting period, 401k retirement plan after six months, and PTO of up to 2 weeks in the first calendar year (pro-rated).
