    Position Overview

    Ho-Ho-Kus Public School invites applications from enthusiastic, highly qualified, and dedicated educators for a Full-Time Tenure Track Elementary School Teacher position serving students in Grades K-5. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team member who brings creativity, high expectations, and a genuine passion for elementary education to our school community.

    Position Type:  Full -Time, 10-Month, Tenure Track

    Location:  Ho-Ho-Kus Public School, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ

    Reports To: Principal 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in core subject areas (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies) for elementary-age students.
    • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners.
    • Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative assessments; use data to inform instructional decisions.
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
    • Communicate proactively and effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
    • Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, specialists, and support staff as part of a professional learning community.
    • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide events.
    • Fulfill all additional duties as assigned by the Principal in accordance with district policy.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Valid New Jersey Standard Certificate in Elementary Education (K-5 or K-6), or eligibility to obtain certification prior to start date.
    • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in elementary education, curriculum design, and child development.
    • Strong classroom management skills and ability to build positive relationships with students.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration.
    • Experience with Google Workspace for Education and/or educational technology preferred.
    • Prior student teaching or classroom experience at the elementary level preferred.
