Position Overview
Implement and manage food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Requires knowledge of food processing, regulations, foodborne illness, allergens, pest management, SQF, sanitation, and microbiology.

Core Responsibilities
- Maintain QA/food safety records for compliance; disposition out-of-spec products, investigate issues, implement corrections.
- Promote proactive customer relations; track production performance (violations, complaints, deviations, audits) and provide monthly reports with improvement direction.
- Train personnel on quality programs; conduct internal audits; oversee supplier/third-party audits and questionnaires.
- Oversee records, audits, product dispositions, corrective actions, and performance reporting.
- Lead SQF initiatives; manage databases (ReposiTrak, TraceGains, FoodLogiQ); foster continuous improvement across departments.
- Ensure FDA/USDA labeling compliance using ESHA Genesis (or similar); submit LSAS applications, create generic approvals, review proofs with Purchasing/Marketing.
- Oversee exports: FDA certificates, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, supplier verification.
- Develop/maintain SOPs, Food Safety Plans; hire/train/coach team; resolve conflicts; liaise with regulators.
- Review industry updates; other duties as assigned.
- Manage labeling (ESHA Genesis, LSAS submissions), exports, supplier verification, and SOPs/Food Safety Plans.
- Train/lead team; promote continuous improvement and regulatory liaison.
Requirements
- Bachelor?s in food science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related.
- 5+ years food safety/quality experience; 3+ years management.
- Expertise: FDA/USDA, pathogens/allergens, supplier audits, SQF.
- Skills: Communication (oral/written/technical), multitasking, analytics, mentoring; proficient in Word/Excel; Deacom ERP a plus.
- Preferred: HACCP, FSMA PCQI, SQF Practitioner certifications.
