Our teams operate in a fast-paced studio environment where creativity, technical precision, and collaboration drive the production of world-class imagery.

We are seeking a reliable and engaging Child Wrangler to support on-set activities during photo shoots in our Portland studio. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and positive environment for child talent, assisting with on-set coordination, and helping maintain a smooth and efficient workflow in alignment with client standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and support child models throughout the shoot, always ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Keep children engaged, cooperative, and at ease between and during shoots
  • Assist in guiding children into positions or actions as directed by the photographer or creative team
  • Foster a positive, calm, and playful on-set environment
  • Coordinate with parents/guardians, stylists, and production staff to manage schedules, breaks, and individual needs
  • Support wardrobe changes and transitions as needed
  • Monitor energy levels and assist with snacks, hydration, and rest breaks
  • Adapt quickly to changing production needs and varying child behaviors

What You Bring 

  • Prior experience supporting photo or video productions, with an understanding of on-set workflows, pacing, and the ability to adapt to changing production needs
  • Background in early childhood education, childcare, performance, or child development, with a strong understanding of age-appropriate behavior, communication styles, and engagement techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and manage children through creative approaches such as games, storytelling, and interactive activities, while maintaining structure and focus in a production environment

Technical Skills 

  • Prior experience working with children (e.g., on-set, childcare, education, camp counseling)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resourceful, and proactive in problem-solving
  • Ability to follow direction and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Must hold a current child and adult CPR/First Aid certification and/or other relevant childcare certifications
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the set for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable bending, kneeling, crouching, and sitting on the floor to engage with children at their level
  • Ability to lift or assist small children (up to approximately 30–40 lbs) when necessary
  • Capable of maintaining energy and attentiveness throughout long or active shoot days
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic production environment, which may include varying noise levels, lighting conditions, and indoor/outdoor settings
