Job Description

Major responsibilities:

 

 

The key job responsibilities include the following:

 

Core Operational Responsibilities

 

·         Troubleshoot LAN and WiFi connectivity issues based on Ubiquiti and Cisco technologies.

·         Troubleshoot authentication issues for LAN and WiFi using Cisco ISE and RADIUS.

·         Diagnose and resolve GlobalProtect VPN issues (policies, authentication, and client software).

·         Process service requests related to network authentication and authorization.

·         Monitor the KSB Global Network for health, performance, and availability.

·         React to service and hardware outages, engage WAN providers, and inform Global site contacts.

·         Process “Palo Altofirewall rule requests and internet-access requests for site-specific services.

·         Support end users with all IT network service–related inquiries.

 

General Network Engineering Responsibilities

·         Monitor overall network engineering performance to ensure system reliability and uptime.

·         Configure and install various Cisco networking devices: routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN appliances, SD‑WAN components, WLAN systems, Cisco controllers, and QoS configurations.

·         Perform proactive network maintenance, apply firmware upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and perform security hardening.

·         Troubleshoot network issues across LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, and VPN environments.

·         Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, standards, diagrams, and operational processes.

Key Skills Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching.

  • Deep knowledge of protocols: IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, RIPV2, 802.11, QoS, and other L2/L3 technologies.

  • Strong understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models.

  • Experience in HLD/LLD network design, planning, and implementation.

  • Solid experience with IPv4/IPv6 migration, addressing, and policies.

  • Strong understanding of routing & switching platforms (Cisco focus).

  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, SD‑WAN, remote troubleshooting, and complex problem resolution.

  • Knowledge of Cisco ISE, RADIUS authentication, and 802.1X.

  • Experience with GlobalProtect VPN support (policy + client troubleshooting).

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes: SLAs, incident/change/release management.

  • Experience using ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Requirement profile:

 

Formal education: A Bachelor's degree (BE/BTech/MCA & MBA) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management

 

Professional experience

In years: Proven industry experience (5 – 8 years)

Should possess very good knowledge in the areas of :

  • Design, configure, and install network systems while enforcing standards and best practices.

  • Implement new solutions and enhance the resilience of the current network.

  • Maximize network performance through monitoring, root-cause analysis, upgrades, and optimization.

  • Perform fault investigations in LAN/WAN environments using data from multiple tools.

  • Secure network systems through strong policies, access control, and continuous monitoring.

  • Administer firewall environments according to IT security policies.

  • Prepare and analyse network operational reports.

  • Upgrade network appliances to stable firmware releases and maintain compliance.

  • Configure routing/switching devices, firewalls, and IP telephony services.

  • Provide remote support to onsite engineers and end users during installations or issues.

  • Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting during deployments.

  • Conduct capacity management and auditing of IP addressing and hosted data center resources.

  • Collaborate closely with project management, L3 engineers, and the service desk.

  • Communicate with customers for initial requirements and technical clarifications.

  • Manage media capacity, run health checks, resolve alerts, and monitor system security.

  • Support network security assessments and post-assessment activities.

Preferable (Nice to have) skill

  • Relevant professional certifications, such as ITIL, CCNP, CWNP certifications

  • Ability to quickly understand complex concepts and use technology for modeling, analysis, or automation.
