Position Summary: 

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role involves accounts receivable and accounts payable processing, general ledger maintenance, and assisting with audits.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts receivable, including cash application, credit card payment processing, account reconciliations, and aging review
  • Process accounts payable, including vendor invoice review, and coding
  • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries and resolve billing or payment discrepancies
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed
  • Provide support for tax filings and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Assist the Accounting team with ongoing tasks and special projects
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and relevant staff; interpret and respond clearly and effectively to verbal and written requests
  • Participate in periodic team meetings and goal-setting sessions

  • All other duties as assigned and required

Required Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on a team and build working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated math aptitude and understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in MS Office and the aptitude to learn and use an ERP system

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required, or equivalent relevant accounting experience
  • Prior experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting preferred
