    Special Education Teacher - Grades 7-12

    Location: Rush City High School

    Rush City High School is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026-27 School Year. This is a 1.0 FTE position focused on supporting students in grades 7-12. Candidates with experience in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) will be given preference. Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Special Education licensure is required. We welcome applicants with any Special Education licensure, with strong consideration given to those with DCD, SLD, EBD, or ABS licensure. While experience is preferred, it is not required.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop a program and learning environment that addresses the unique needs of students, supporting their engagement with the general education curriculum to the fullest extent possible.
    • Provide instruction to assigned students based on their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and prepare academic materials following the approved curriculum.
    • Write IEPs and Due Process Reports in compliance with MDE regulations.
    • Conduct student evaluations for special education eligibility and services.
    • Assess the needs of assigned students through both formal and informal assessments.
    • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress.
    • Collaborate with administration to coordinate paraprofessional support as required in students' IEPs.
    • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings as necessary.
    • Complete other job-related duties as assigned.

    Compensation: In accordance with the Teacher Master Agreement.
