Job Description

Morrison Center is seeking a Full Time Direct Support Professional (DSP), to be based in Scarborough, Maine

 

Morrison Center is hiring an additional Full Time Direct Support Professional (DSP). 

Willing to transport clients out into the community, provide personal care, complete daily documentation, have a good understanding of what community supports is. DSP staffer to support the clients in maintaining, obtaining, and managing their goals. 

 

Requirements of the Direct Support Professional  

  • HS Diploma or GED Required
  • DSP Certification preferred but will train the right candidate!
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Safety training such as Mandt, Safety Care, etc.
  • Prior experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Valid Maine Driver’s license required and a clean driving record
  • Experienced with transfers in and out of wheelchair, using a lift, and is comfortable working in someone’s private home.

Responsibilities of the Direct Support Professional:

  • Willing to transport clients out into the community
  • Provide personal care, showers, toileting, dressing etc.
  • Supporting clients to help them reach and maintain plan of care goals and activities.
  • Have a good understanding of what community supports is
  • Gives hands on and eyes on care and support for clients
