Job Title: Metrologist

Department: Calibration

Reports To: Calibration Supervisor

POSITION PURPOSE:

Ensure that all inspection and test equipment are tested at regular intervals to standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, or other acceptable National Standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Calibrating tools, gauges, and measuring equipment in-house and/or routing to outside vendors when necessary.

2. Completing the Certificate of Calibration and/or Repair Report when applicable.

3. Performing repairs on calibrated tool/equipment when needed, provided we have capabilities.

4. Working professionally with all customers to meet their Calibration Program needs.

5. Maintaining the Calibration Lab in a clean and orderly manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.

2. Previous Calibration experience with calibrating equipment/tooling and using various certified equipment.

3. Basic computer skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, and understand spoken and written English.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
