Sagis Diagnostics is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. We offer the highest quality services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals.

Full-Time Specimen Collector: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, based in the San Antonio area
Primary coverage will be within the greater San Antonio area, with regular support in the greater Austin area and Corpus Christi. Additional travel may be required as needed across the broader South Texas territory, spanning from West Texas through Central Texas and across to the Gulf Coast and South Texas border regions.
Mileage reimbursement provided for applicable travel.
- Organize specimen collector schedules and ensure proper coverage at all collecting locations.
- Monitor specimen collector timecards and CE order logs for efficient use of resources.
- Facilitate communications between the Collections team and the lab/office.
- When needed, travel to clinics to fill in for a collector if a suitable substitute is unavailable.
- Create/update SOPs for each location.
- Arrange coverage for absences, holidays, vacations, open positions.
- Specimen collections for new accounts until permanent collector is on-board.
- Track the Annual/Semi-Annual competency documents and Compliance training.
- Quality Control- Track errors and missing information; address with collectors.
- Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff.
- Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse population base.
- Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens.
- Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Inform Manager of daily tasks, unusual problems, or deviations from established procedures.
- Perform a variety of routine clerical tasks.
