Meridian Cooperative is seeking a Director of Project Management to lead the successful delivery of strategic initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment—someone who can both drive execution and develop high-performing project management teams.
As a key leader, you will oversee project delivery, establish best practices, and ensure alignment with business objectives, while also serving as a working project manager on critical initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across the organization
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers, driving accountability and performance
- Establish and scale PMO standards, tools, and governance frameworks
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Monitor portfolio performance through KPIs, reporting, and delivery metrics
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across projects
- Drive project intake, prioritization, and resource planning
- Partner with business and technology leaders to align initiatives with company strategy
- Oversee change management and governance processes
- Manage external vendors, consultants, and third-party partners
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across project delivery practices
- Provide regular updates and insights to executive leadership
What You’ll Bring
- PMP® certification (required)
- 8+ years of project management experience, including managing multiple concurrent projects
- Proven experience leading or mentoring project managers
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
- Experience building or supporting PMO functions and governance models
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
- Experience driving organizational change and transformation initiatives
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
