Duties

Serve as a journey level electrician.,Perform tasks associated with repair, overhaul, maintenance, servicing and installation of 120/208 and 480/277 volt-three phase systems, electrical, steam and hot water equipment of industrial, commercial and domestic type.,Install, maintain and repair electric wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels, and outlet boxes.,Diagnose and locate malfunctions.

This requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling and working in uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries parts and equipment that weigh up to 50 pounds or more. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is done inside and outside, often in inclement weather. Subject to cuts, bruises, burns, electrical shock and contact with grease and dirt. Required wearing protective clothing and safety equipment. Works on voltage up to 440 volts and in the vicinity of 13,000 volts. Frequently exposed to contagious disease, toxic chemicals, fumes and radioactive materials. Occasionally exposed to the possibility of broken bones from falls from ladders.
