Audubon is currently seeking a Mechanic to join our team in our Offsite Office. The Mechanic will perform installation, assembly, dismantling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repair equipment at facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with industry-specific and high complex machines including but not limited to: cars, trucks, generators, hydraulic systems, pumps, gears, bearings, forklifts, ATVs, compressors etc.
- Will plan, inspect, verify and document scope of work
- Will replace gaskets and other defective parts on machinery.
- Will dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools
- Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets and fastens machinery to foundations or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
- Operates power tools, grinders and files.
- Fabricates and installs parts, equipment and machinery by measuring, cutting, drilling and/or welding
- Uses rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers, chain falls and come-along to move equipment/ materials into place
- Conducts preventative maintenance such as lubrication and fixing or repairing worn parts.
- Follows direction from supervisor and lead man
- Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Related trade school education is preferred.
- Five years' experience in the construction industry.
- Three years' experience as a mechanic.
- Must have or be able to obtain OSHA Construction Basic Plus Safety Training Card.
- Construction safety practices.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
- Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
- Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
