Primary Function:
Responsible for operations related to the sorting of donated textiles and electronics. Including breakdown of recyclable material to maximize profits to support the mission of Goodwill.
Essential Functions
- Operate tipper, baler machine; pallet jack, hand trucks and/or other safety sensitive equipment
- Process donations according to Goodwill procedures
Empty salvage into Baler - Cut cardboard strips and place them on top and bottom of bales
- Secure bales with wire, tip bale onto hand cart and remove bale from baler to store in weighing area
- Follow all safety procedures; Report safety concerns and violation immediately
- Responsible for wearing required Personal Protective
- Equipment (hard hat gloves and safety glasses etc.)
- Keep work area clean, safe and tidy
- Follow all hazardous waste procedures
- Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record
- Perform other related duties as required
- Receive and sort incoming cardboard, computer, wires and electronic accessories
- Follow all recycling process for cardboard and electronics.
- Material Handler for Central Processing and Outlet Sort raw donations into Danduxs, Bins, and Gaylords based on category Stage product for the processors, remove salvage and restock supplies as needed Responsible for the proper labeling of outgoing product with transfer sheets; Pulling items of value for shopgoodwill.com Sweep, mop and sanitize hanger stations nightly Responsible for the organization of the incoming product, supply’s and outgoing product to the stores Responsible for ordering needed supply’s timely to ensure staff has what they need at all times

Requirements:
Good communication skills and attention to detail;
Able to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures;
Able to work with minimal supervision;

Must be able to pass a background check
Complete all required screenings and certifications
Must be certified to operate the baler and forklift within 2 weeks (IF OPERATING THE MACHINE)

Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly goals as assigned by supervisors
Good work ethic
Qualifications:
High School degree or equivalent, preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move a minimum of 100 pounds with or without assistance;
Able to move 1000 pounds with assistance;
Able to lift heavy bags and toss into baler;
Able to perform constant physical labor throughout the day – most labor involves repetitive upper body movement, twisting and bending;
Good eye-hand coordination and good vision;
Walking, pushing, standing, stooping, lifting and carrying required.
Typical Work Environment:
Works primarily indoors but exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
Occasionally must work on the trucks as a helper.
