Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for driving group and leisure revenue through proactive sales efforts, strategic account management, and strong client relationships. This role partners closely with Revenue Management, Sales Support, and Operations to grow market share, optimize RevPAR, and deliver exceptional, brand-forward customer experiences in alignment with Marriott standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
▪ Proactively solicit group and leisure business aligned with the hotel's overall sales strategy.
▪ Identify and secure new business through prospecting, sales calls, networking events, tradeshows, and community involvement.
▪ Develop, execute, and manage sales action plans to meet or exceed assigned revenue and room night goals.
▪ Maintain and grow existing client relationships to drive repeat and referral business.
▪ Solicit, negotiate, and close group and leisure business within established pricing and contract
parameters.
▪ Manage assigned accounts in accordance with Marriott sales processes and brand standards.
▪ Conduct site inspections and deliver compelling client presentations highlighting hotel amenities and unique selling points.
▪ Serve as the primary client contact throughout the sales cycle, ensuring a seamless transition to
Operations.
▪ Deliver exceptional customer service that drives guest satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term partnerships.
▪ Analyze STR reports, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
▪ Partner closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, inventory, and total revenue
performance.
▪ Participate in weekly sales, revenue, and strategy meetings, providing actionable insights and
recommendations.
▪ Support execution of Property Sales Reviews (PSR) and quarterly Sales & Marketing action plans.
▪ Uphold Marriott brand standards and Lodging Dynamics service culture in all interactions.
▪ Maintain accurate account records, contracts, and required sales documentation.
▪ Demonstrate professional appearance, reliable attendance, and effective communication.
▪ Attendance is a key component of this position.
▪ Maintains open and effective communication with team members and management.
▪ Adheres to established safety and emergency procedures and protocols, this includes Company,
federal, and state specific regulations and guidelines.
▪ Completes all required Company training/compliance courses as assigned.
▪ Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
▪ Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION
▪ Associate's degree from an accredited university or equivalent in related field.

EXPERIENCE
▪ A minimum four (4) years of experience in the hotel sales and marketing or hospitality field required.

PAY

Salary pay: $65,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
