Job Description

Shift Nurse Supervisor; Night Shift

Are you a Registered Nurse (RN) with prior long-term care or rehabilitation / skilled nursing / sub-acute care experience and searching for an opportunity to progress your career, or an experienced Nursing Manager looking for a great new opportunity? Then come join our team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the clinical care planning and delivery processes to ensure the coordination of quality patient care. 

  • Assesses residents/clients upon admission and periodically as conditions change

  • Performs rounds to evaluate patient condition

  • Provides or assists with the delivery of direct patient care when indicated, including activities of daily living, meal assistance, medication and treatment administration, and leisure activities when indicated

  • Obtains and implements Physician Orders, checking for accuracy and completeness

  • Communicates between shifts regarding changes in resident/patient conditions

  • Ensures a safe and secure environment for patients/residents, staff and visitors

  • Provides clinical evaluations to MD/NPs on call for quality outcomes delivered to patients

  • Plans, implements and evaluates the clinical competencies and ongoing educational/orientation needs of the staff.

  • Participate in Facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing Services

  • Participate in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the resident’s written discharge plan

  • Ensure that a sufficient number of nursing staff is available for each shift to ensure that quality care is maintained

  • Make daily rounds of the Nursing Services Department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report findings to the Director of Nursing Services

  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Clear and active RN Licensure in the state of practice required.

  • One (1+) year of nursing experience required.

  • Prior Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing (SNF), or Sub-Acute Care nursing experience a plus, or nursing leadership experience from a related setting.
