What you'll do
Primary Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with other tax professionals, developing recommendations and implementing tax plans by preparing tax analysis and memoranda
- Researching complex tax issues to advise clients on tax strategies
- Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns and tax forms
- Demonstrating an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts
- Litigation support including representation to the taxation authorities and preparation of appeals
- Providing training to the firm in areas of taxation
- Providing clients and partners with quality, timely and responsive services
- Keeping informed of changing tax laws and effectively applying tax knowledge to files while remaining thorough and accurate
- Developing practical and business-oriented approaches to the client’s tax situation and arriving at appropriate conclusions
- Sharing tax planning ideas with others and participating in and contributing to achieving team goals
- Contributing to the development and execution of the firm’s business plan
What you need to succeed
- Enrolled or having completed the Master of Taxation program or CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Courses
- Ability to identify new business opportunities, build strong client relations and focus on employee engagement
- Work flexible hours and work within required budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
