Position Summary



The Service Engineer provides after-sales technical support for Balluff products and serves as a technical expert in troubleshooting, resolving customer issues, and managing complaints. This role is based in Florence, KY and supports customers through phone, virtual, and on-site engagements while collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues.



 



What You’ll Do




  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, virtual meetings, and on-site visits.

  • Act as a solutions and troubleshooting expert for both internal and external customers.

  • Analyze and resolve technical issues related to Balluff products and industrial automation systems.

  • Monitor and manage customer support requests using the SAP C4C ticket system.

  • Identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities, and report findings to the Complaint Manager or Service Manager.

  • Escalate high-impact complaints using Balluff’s formal complaint process.

  • Enter and maintain accurate complaint and service data in C4C, including trip reports, application reports, visit documentation, and 4D/8D reports.

  • Interface with internal development and quality assurance teams as needed.

  • Deliver technical presentations and training to customers and Balluff personnel.

  • Develop and maintain technical support tools such as instructions, function blocks, example code, and technical notes.

  • Document technical information in the Product Information Application for future reference.



 



Work Environment & Physical Requirements




  • Office-based role with extended periods of sitting and computer use.

  • Frequent visits to customer facilities, which may require standing, walking, and carrying toolboxes or test equipment.

  • Work environments may include industrial settings where hearing or eye protection is required.

  • Travel required up to 20% (approximately 5-10% overnight travel), depending on customer needs.
