Business Operations Manager (BOM)
Reports to the President of DirectLine Communications. This position oversees daily departmental operations, manages staff, ensures compliance with policies, and optimizes processes to achieve organizational goals. Direct reports include- Construction and Billing Coordinator Supervisors, damages/chargebacks, and inventory control.
Role Overview
Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a department or team and ensuring that operations run efficiently and effectively. This position serves as a bridge between employees and upper management, while maintaining workflow and quality standards and promptly addressing operational and administrative issues.
This role is critical for smooth business operations and process optimization. Also serves as a liaison between the DLC and Network Management Group departments, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Human Resources, Safety, Information Technology, and Equipment Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Management: Train, supervise, and evaluate employees, providing feedback and addressing performance issues.
- · Process Oversight: Monitor workflows, implement procedural improvements, and ensure adherence to operational policies.
- · Resource Management: Oversee inventory, allocate resources, and manage departmental budgets to control costs.
- · Compliance and Safety: Ensure operations comply with regulatory standards, workplace safety, and environmental guidelines.
- · Reporting and Analysis: Compile reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- · Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments to streamline processes and support company-wide objectives.
- Strategic Planning: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and the overall work environment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, finance, management,
or a related field. Will consider a combination of education and experience.
Experience: 2-3 years of proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role
Ability to travel to offices in parts of Indiana and Illinois
