- Provide continuous companionship to the patient while on duty.
- Assist in meal planning, purchase of foods and food preparation.
- Maintain the patient’s living environment in a clean and safe manner.
- Observe the patient’s general physical, emotional and mental conditions and report any obvious changes to the Clinical Liaison or Manager.
- Provide a sense of security for the patient.
- Assist patients as needed, excluding any personal or medical care.
- Complete all required documentation and submit such on a timely basis and as directed through agency policy.
- If eligible, may participate in the Patient Transportation program for the Private Services department.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects VNA’s commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum six months of satisfactory employment history.
- Satisfactory completion of Skill Assessment Test.
- Able to understand and carry out direction and instruction.
