The Safety Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring a safe work environment at project sites. You will work with the Project Safety Manager in implementing BUILD’s Safety Culture and Policies. You will review safety submittals, monitor trade partner activities for safety concerns, and assist with injury management and case management. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs at the project level
  • Document and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.
  • Conduct work area safety audits
  • Conduct or assist with major incident analysis
  • Record, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury, and Hazard statistics
  • Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements
  • Monitor and review trade partner work plans and activities for safety concerns
  • Assist with onsite injury management and case management
  • Provide resources for safety-related information
  • Evaluate and offer solutions for industrial hygiene concerns
  • Maintain operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable   standards, regulations, laws, and procedures
  • Serve as a resource for safety issues
  • Attend and/or chair safety meetings 

 

Qualifications 

  • Five plus years of experience in a construction safety supervisorial role
  • Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of construction
  • OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred
  • OSHA 30
  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred
  • Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals preferred (CHST/CSP)
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a security background screening
  • CPR/First Aid qualified 

 

Working Conditions

  • 100% travel required.  Projects are nationally based. 
  • Construction Site Environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.  Exposed to high noise levels.
  • Office Environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
  • Exposure to all forms of weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, dry, humid, windy) for the entire workday.  

 

Location: Various U.S. Project Sites (Travel Required) 

Full Time - Exempt Position 

Position requires working hours in excess of 40 hours per week based on operational needs. A rotation schedule is implemented to help offset additional hours. 


Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 - DOE
