Engineering Technician I (Tier 1)

Location: Still Waters Resort

Position Summary

The Engineering Technician I supports the daily maintenance operations of the resort by performing entry-level repairs, preventive maintenance, and guest service tasks. This role is highly guest-facing and requires a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner, prioritizing guest-related issues
  • Perform routine maintenance in guest rooms, including:
    • Replacing light bulbs, batteries, and air filters
    • Fixing minor plumbing issues (clogs, slow drains, leaking faucets)
    • Adjusting doors, locks, hinges, and basic hardware
  • Assist with preventive maintenance programs for:
    • HVAC units (filter changes, visual inspections)
    • Appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, dishwashers)
  • Support upkeep of resort amenities, including pools, hot tubs, and common areas:
    • Clean surfaces, remove debris, and report irregularities
    • Monitor water conditions under supervision
  • Respond to guest calls (e.g., AC not cooling, TV issues, maintenance concerns) with professionalism and urgency
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials safely throughout the property
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop, storage rooms, and work areas
  • Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout awareness (as trained)
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level technicians

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 0–2 years of general maintenance, construction, or related experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license (if required for property vehicles)
  • Basic familiarity with tools, equipment, and safe handling practices

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn multiple trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Dependability and punctuality

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable using ladders and basic maintenance equipment
