🔹 Role Overview

We are looking for a Team Leader – Automation Engineering to lead and drive automation initiatives for global Cloud Operations. This role combines technical leadership and hands-on development, focusing on building scalable automation frameworks, improving operational efficiency, and mentoring a team of engineers.

You will work closely with Operations, Support, and Engineering teams to convert operational workflows, alerts, and incidents into robust automated solutions, while ensuring reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.


🔹 Key Responsibilities

👥 Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers
  • Drive technical direction, best practices, and code quality
  • Conduct performance reviews and support team growth
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders and align priorities

⚙️ Automation & Engineering

  • Design and implement end-to-end automated workflows for cloud operations
  • Build and manage alert auto-handling systems (classification, validation, execution, rollback)
  • Develop Python-based services and automation scripts
  • Integrate automation solutions with internal systems via REST APIs
  • Drive event-driven automation and workflow orchestration

🚨 Operations & Reliability

  • Improve incident management through automation of resolution and diagnostics
  • Ensure observability (logs, metrics, monitoring) across automation systems
  • Own production systems including debugging, optimization, and scaling
  • Ensure automation solutions are secure, auditable, and resilient

🤝 Collaboration & Strategy

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Support teams
  • Identify and prioritize automation opportunities
  • Document workflows and create runbooks for operations teams
  • Stay updated with industry trends and introduce best practices

🔹 Requirements

🎯 Experience

  • 7–10+ years of experience in automation, DevOps, SRE, or backend engineering
  • 2+ years of team leadership / mentoring experience

💻 Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python development
  • Solid Linux fundamentals
  • Experience with alerting/monitoring platforms
  • Strong knowledge of event-driven systems and workflow automation
  • Experience integrating systems using REST APIs
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Exposure to containers (Docker) and cloud environments

🧠 Core Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to design scalable and maintainable systems
  • Good understanding of incident management and operational reliability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

➕ Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of OSI Model (L1–L7)
