SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Operates Narrow Isle lift in a safe manner to stack and retrieve supplies and materials while maintaining inventory and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness. This position is employed by an affiliated company of Patriot Rail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lift, stack and un-stack materials using narrow isle lift

  • Move materials

  • Make sure goods are stored in the correct area of a warehouse so they may be located easily

  • Unload transport vehicles and place in warehouse and/or freezer area for storage

  • Load transport vehicles, making sure loads are evenly and securely placed

  • Keep a record of daily operations.

  • This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and employee may also perform other reasonable related business duties as assigned by the supervisor and other management as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pass equipment certification written and equipment operation test.Basic knowledge area’s include: Material handling including,

  • Ability to work overtime during the week or on weekends.

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent

  • 6 months to 2 years of related experience

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with diverse personalities

  • Resourceful, well organized and dependable.

  • High School or Equivalent, Certification/Diploma

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a 3 year driving history that is acceptable to our auto insurance carrier.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand; bend; stoop; walk; use hands, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Required to lift up to 50 lbs on an intermittent basis. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend and kneel with alternate sitting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a warehouse and outdoor environment. Frequently visits a refrigerated warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from 30 to below zero. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
