Position Summary:  A Cook is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. This position would support breakfast operations within the hotel restaurant, lunch and dinner service for the hotel Lounge, and support the banquet team as needed with prep & execution of banquet event food.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
  • Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
  • Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
  • Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed

Skills

  • You are neat, organized, and efficient
  • You have strong organizational, communication and customer service skills 
  • You obtain and maintain any food handling certificates that may apply 

Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience

2+ years of culinary/ kitchen experience 

Applicants with Banquet & Prep experience will be given priority for an interview.

Hours required

Scheduled days and time vary based on hotel needs. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements 

Comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods of time.
