Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager – Legal Intake, the Specialist – Legal Intake is responsible for assisting with the process of file opening and managing inherited files.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

File Opening:
- Understands file flow and assists with moving file inventory to demand review process.
- Reviews criteria dependent diaries from files that are moved back into the work queue from the legal teams.
- Verifies information in files through an automated process; provides manual review efforts and clean up.
- Understands and adds correct codes to files creating the path to litigation team.
- Maintains knowledge on client work standards in regard to compliance requirements.
- Runs assigned reports in an effort to manage file flow and moving accounts to the demand effort.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Inherited Files:
- Assists with the process of coordinating transfers and coding the files with internal stakeholders.
- Works assigned files dependent on legal status.
- Assists with demand exception reports.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while maintaining a focus on compliance.
- Individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite of products.
- Must act with a sense of urgency while maintaining a high attention to detail.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels within the organization.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
- Prefer a Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years’ experience in a legal profession.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Schedule:
8am to 5pm Monday through Friday with flexibility to meet business needs.
