About the role:
As a Principal Security Architect at TQL, you’ll serve as the Chief Information Security Officer’s primary technical advisor and proxy. You’ll provide enterprise‑wide security architecture leadership, drive complex, high‑impact initiatives, and help ensure security strategy is aligned with business objectives.
In this role, you’ll operate across multiple security domains, resolve architectural tradeoffs, anticipate emerging risks, and translate business strategy into clear, actionable security direction while enabling security architects and engineering teams to remain focused on execution.

What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including significant experience in architecture or senior engineering roles
Deep expertise across multiple security domains such as IAM, application security, cloud security, or security operations
5+ years of hands‑on experience in one or more security domains
Experience acting as a technical lead or advisor to executive leadership
Experience designing security architectures in large or complex enterprise environments
Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, or relevant cloud security certifications are a plus
Strong communicator with both technical teams and executive stakeholders
What you’ll be doing:
Define and evolve TQL’s enterprise security architecture and guiding principles
Ensure consistency, scalability, and risk‑based decision‑making across security domains
Serve as the final decision authority for complex or cross‑domain security architecture decisions
Lead high‑priority, cross‑functional security initiatives on behalf of the CISO
Take ownership of ambiguous or stalled efforts and drive them to resolution
Break complex problems into executable plans and delegate effectively
Act as a trusted technical advisor to the CISO on current and emerging risks
Translate business strategy into security architecture direction and roadmaps
Represent the CISO in technical forums, architecture reviews, and senior stakeholder discussions
Identify emerging threats, technologies, and industry trends and recommend strategic responses
Mentor and coach domain Security Architects while promoting reuse of standards and reference architectures
Resolve conflicts between security domains or between security and IT teams
Escalate material risks and strategic tradeoffs to the CISO with clear recommendations
