Position Summary

The Supervisor, Production is responsible for supervising and providing direction and guidance to production employees. This role monitors production equipment, maintains performance standards, and performs maintenance activities within the assigned plant.

Essential Job Functions

Supervisory & Production Oversight (20%)
  • Coordinate production activities including processing, service development, and workflow optimization.
  • Prepare and deliver production reports to support continuous improvement.
Workforce Scheduling & Leadership (20%)
  • Coordinate staffing, work schedules, and production sequences to maximize efficiency.
  • May recruit, hire, train, evaluate employee performance, and make recommendations for promotions, transfers, or disciplinary action.
Inventory & Quality Control (20%)
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and requisition necessary ingredients/supplies.
  • Evaluate materials and products to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support (20%)
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment, process, and materials-related issues in collaboration with machine operators and support teams.
Documentation & Compliance (10%)
  • Review, verify, and finalize production paperwork, including reports, work orders, safety documents, sanitation forms, and quality records.
Training, Coaching & Enforcement (10%)
  • Train employees on equipment and process controls.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Additional Duties

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of production experience.

  • Working knowledge of Food Safety practices (HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, SQF).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to obtain forklift/pallet jack certification.
  • Understanding of Quality Standards, SSOPs, prerequisite programs, and HACCP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently or within a team environment.

Environmental/Working Conditions

  • Ability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and all shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
  • Work environment temperatures range between 35–95°F and may occasionally exceed 95°F.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand and use hands/fingers in repetitive motion.
  • Frequently required to walk and reach above head.
