Job Description
BioRender is launching the Product Builder — a new kind of role designed for scientists and researchers who have been building on the side and are ready to do it full time.

We're looking for scientists and researchers who understand the problem from the inside — who have run experiments, wrestled with figures, navigated lab workflows — and have started building tools to solve their problems.

With AI-assisted coding, the gap between "I have an idea" and "I built it" has never been smaller. We think the best next generation of product builders will come from people with deep domain expertise and the curiosity to prototype fast.

What you'll do

  • Own discovery for your product area: identify unmet needs, and turn insights into a clear point of view on what to build
  • Prototype new features and ideas yourself using AI-assisted tools like Claude, Cursor, or similar
  • Ship things. Take ideas from concept to something real users are interacting with

What we're looking for

  • A background in biology, life sciences, or a related research field
  • Genuine familiarity with BioRender — you've used it, you have opinions about it
  • Comfort with AI coding tools — you don't need to be a software expert but you’ve built a product that people use and spend your free time tinkering in Claude code and have collaborated with others via Github
  • Something you've built: a script, a tool, a side project, a vibe-coded experiment that actually worked
  • Curiosity, scrappiness, and the ability to move from idea to prototype quickly
