Work Location: Home Office - Coppell, TX 

Work Schedule: Hybrid 

  • Onsite: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the company’s financial reporting function, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and trial balance, and leading technical accounting initiatives. 

 

This role owns the end-to-end financial reporting process, including internal and external reporting packages, and serves as a key steward of accounting accuracy, consistency and compliance with US GAAP. 


The Manager drives process improvements across systems and reporting, partners cross-functionally to support a scalable and efficient accounting environment and plays a key role in evaluating and advancing the use of technology and AI-enabled tools to modernize accounting operations and enhance data accessibility.

 

This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive mindset, with the ability to operate independently while guiding team members and influencing cross-functional stakeholders. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Financial Reporting

  • Own the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for internal leadership, lenders, and external stakeholders

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all reporting deliverables

  • Oversee financial statement preparation and disclosures in compliance with US GAAP

  • Serve as the primary owner of reporting governance, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality across all deliverables

 

General Ledger, Trial Balance & Month End Close

  • Maintain ownership of the general ledger, trial balance, and chart of accounts, ensuring integrity and proper classification across all entities

  • Lead efforts to standardize and optimize account structures to support reporting and scalability

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial data structures and business needs

  • Oversee and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and complex accounting areas (ie – stock-based compensation, add-backs, non-recurring items, etc)

  • Lead variance analysis and investigation of financial results

  • Support and enhance close processes in partnership with accounting leadership

 

Technical Accounting, Special Projects & Controls

  • Lead the assessment and implementation of new accounting guidance and its impact on financial statements and operations

  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos and documentation 

  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures 

  • Provide guidance on complex and non-routine transactions

  • Support audit requests and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards

  • Support system implementations and enhancements (ie – ERP, equity, loyalty programs, etc.) as a key partner to accounting leadership

  • Support the ongoing maintenance and execution of internal control processes across the enterprise, including control ownership coordination, documentation updates, remediation follow-up, and leveraging external resources as needed to sustain an effective controls framework.

  • Assist in ensuring accounting requirements are appropriately reflected in system configurations

 

Technology, Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Drive adoption of technology solutions and AI-enabled tools, including evaluation of emerging capabilities (i.e. – agentic AI) to improve accounting processes and reporting

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities by leveraging available technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across accounting workflows

  • Partner with Finance and IT to improve data accessibility, reporting capabilities, and system integration

  • Participate in system implementations, enhancements, and process redesign efforts to support a scalable and efficient accounting environment

 

Leadership & Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Oversee work performed by staff, senior accountants, and offshore resources

  • Provide coaching, review, and development support, fostering growth and accountability across the team

  • Oversee accounting areas such as equity, compensation and loyalty programs

  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Accounting Operations, Tax and other relevant groups to support reporting and analysis

  • Provide timely and accurate accounting insights to support business decisions

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced reporting efficiency

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related area

  • CPA strongly preferred

  • 6-10+ years of accounting experience (large public accounting + industry preferred) 

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting

  • Experience with consolidations, intercompany accounting, and trial balance management

  • Experience with technical accounting research and memo preparation

  • Large ERP experience required (SAP & BPC preferred)

  • Advanced excel skills with ability to work with large data sets
