    SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT (SLPA)
    In-Person position

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    * Associates Degree (must meet Wyoming SLPA licensing requirements)
    * Bachelor’s Degree
    * Wyoming State Licensure in SLPA

     


    SALARY: Based on experience

    REPORTS TO: SLP, Special Education Director and Building Principals

     


    JOB GOAL:  

     

    To assist SLP in providing intervention, and special services to students with language, speech, social communication, cognitive-communication, and/or hearing disorders.

     


    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

     
    1. Abide by district policies/procedures and other state and federal regulations concerning students with disabilities.

    2. Abide by professional code of ethics.

    3. Assist SLP with recommendations and referrals for related professional services.

    4. Follow long-term and short-term instructional objectives included in a student’s IEP.

    5. Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the referral process.

    6. Assist with the design and implementation of building/therapy schedules.

    7. Attend IEP meetings as required.

    8. Provide appropriate direct/indirect therapy for identified students.

    9. Provide continuous progress reports of students to supervising SLP.

    10. Maintain thorough student progress reports.

    11. Manage the facilities materials and equipment, including assistive technology, necessary to the delivery of services.

    12. Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

    13. Maintain appropriate confidentiality when entrusted with personal information pertaining to students or staff members.

      OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
      Valid Driver's license and ability to travel to muliple district buildings.  Travel outside of the district may also be required for meetings and trainings held off-site.
