Job Description
Position Details
  • Location: Mt. Pleasant, IA
  • Starting Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour (based on skills & experience)
  • Shift Details: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Core Hours)
    • Monday – Thursday
    • OT as needed
  • Full Time / Direct Hire
 
Quality Assurance Tech Duties Include
  • Analyze quality data and prepare standard and ad hoc reports to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Assess quality issues, track defect trends, and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Apply statistical methods including process capability, hypothesis testing, tolerance analysis, and measurement systems analysis (MSA)
  • Develop and execute inspection plans, sampling methods, and test procedures
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and support PPAP processes
  • Conduct product and process audits, including finished goods inspections (fit, form, and function)
  • Monitor production quality through in-process audits and sampling
  • Control and document non-conforming materials, including disposition (scrap, rework, return to stock, RMA)
  • Communicate quality issues with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain calibration and proper use of inspection and test equipment
  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in alignment with ISO 9001
  • Participate in testing activities, including product performance and compliance testing
  • Act as a representative during external audits and inspections (e.g., listing agencies)
  • Assist with packaging validation and ISTA testing as needed
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
 
Qualifications         
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance Technician role (or equivalent) in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and documentation practices
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
  • Experience with statistical analysis and quality tools (MSA, process capability, sampling plans)
  • Hands-on experience with measurement and test equipment (calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and quality systems/databases
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings clearly across teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
