Job Description

This role is based in New York City.

The Role:

The Field Marketing Manager is the bridge between MFUSED’s brand strategy and its in-market execution. This role leads regional field marketing efforts, ensuring that the brand is represented consistently and with excellence across retail locations, events, and activations.

As a hands-on leader and role model, the Field Marketing Manager sets the tone for their team through action — never asking the team to do work they are not willing to do themselves. This person drives engagement through example, taking full ownership of their team’s success and fostering a culture where everyone is “all in to win it.”

They are responsible for coaching and developing field teams, strengthening retail and budtender relationships, supporting consumer education, and gathering real-time market insights that shape how MFUSED shows up in every region. This role requires agility, leadership, strong communication skills, and a balance of strategy and execution.

What You'll Do

Field Team Leadership & Development

  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, work ethic, and collaboration — setting the standard for excellence in the field.
  • Lead, train, and coach Field Marketing Coordinators to execute high-quality activations, ensuring consistent brand representation and compliance.
  • Take ownership of team performance and results, understanding that success is a collective effort achieved through accountability and teamwork.
  • Participate directly in field activities as needed to support business priorities — leading by example and fostering a hands-on, “all-in” culture.
  • Evaluate team performance regularly, providing real-time feedback, mentorship, and development opportunities to strengthen capability and confidence.

Retail & Budtender Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dispensary partners, store managers, and retail staff to maximize MFUSED’s retail performance and visibility.
  • Coordinate and deliver budtender training sessions to educate retail teams on MFUSED products, brand values, and our unique value proposition.
  • Ensure retail displays, point-of-sale (POS) materials, and activations uphold brand standards and compliance requirements.
  • Gather insights from retail teams on product performance, consumer preferences, and competitor activity to inform HQ strategy.

Event & Activation Oversight

  • Partner with the Event Marketing Manager to plan and execute regional events, trade shows, and consumer activations.
  • Oversee team participation, setup, and teardown to ensure each event delivers an engaging, on-brand experience.
  • Manage logistics and scheduling to ensure activations are properly staffed and executed on time.

Consumer & Market Insights

  • Gather consumer feedback and insights through field interactions and retailer relationships.
  • Assess MFUSED’s retail displays and merchandising performance relative to competitors and share observations with HQ.
  • Translate field and consumer insights into actionable recommendations for brand, product, and retail improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Brand, Product Marketing, and Channel Marketing teams to ensure local activations reflect broader campaign goals.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to align in-market activity with product availability, lifecycle updates, and business priorities.
  • Work with Marketing Operations and Compliance to ensure all field activities meet regulatory standards.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for field activations, retail performance, and consumer engagement.
  • Track and manage regional budgets, expenses, and inventory for marketing materials.
  • Provide detailed reports to the Senior Manager, Field Marketing & Training on regional execution, team performance, and opportunities for improvement.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned to meet business needs, including supporting retail launches, company initiatives, or cross-departmental marketing efforts.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in field marketing, retail marketing, or brand activation, preferably within cannabis, CPG, or lifestyle industries.
  • Demonstrated success leading regional or distributed teams with a focus on accountability, motivation, and mentorship.
  • Proven ability to lead by example — maintaining a strong “all-in” attitude and willingness to step in wherever needed.
  • Experience training retail staff or budtenders on product knowledge and brand storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and consumer engagement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to speak confidently with retailers, budtenders, consumers, and internal teams.
  • Highly organized and adaptable, with exceptional problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Analytical skills with experience capturing and interpreting field data and consumer insights.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel between retail locations, team meetings, and events as required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within assigned markets and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events.
  • Hands-on leadership style grounded in humility, accountability, and collaboration.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

This position requires frequent travel within assigned regions and regular presence at retail locations, events, and activations. The role involves standing for extended periods, driving between sites, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be made in accordance with applicable law.
