- Teach fundamental field hockey skills, rules, and strategies appropriate for middle school athletes.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, school administration, and the Athletic Department.
- Ensure compliance with all district policies, school expectations, and CIAC regulations.
- Maintain equipment, uniforms, and field space in coordination with the Athletic Department.
- Model and reinforce positive sportsmanship and conduct.
- Available for practices and competitions that occur after school hours, with occasional weekend commitments
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development for coaches.
- Knowledge of field hockey rules, skills, and safety practices
- Ability to work effectively with middle school students
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CIAC coaching certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Successful completion of all required background checks
- Prior coaching experience at the middle school or high school level
- Experience working in a school or youth athletic environment
