Job Description

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Team Leader is responsible for assisting the Production Leader in their assigned area by maintaining all area standards including – standard work adherence, coaching & training targets, production escalation, and quality checks.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Fill in due to team member absenteeism or vacancy
  • Supports the operators in designated area with their daily activities
  • Train others in area based upon knowledge level and technical capacity
  • Assists in resolving conflicts and coaching operators in proper performance and behaviors
  • Inform Production Leader of all shortages that are/or have the potential to stop production
  • Assists in assigning daily rotation schedule for operators in area to maximize productivity, minimize risk, and cross-training
  • Ensure that established procedures and processes are being followed
  • Maintain MDI boards
  • Stop the process when nonconforming materials or products are found
  • Utilize the Control Point Methodology (behavior and attention management), as required, to maintain uniformity of work and conformity to requirements over time regarding, safety, quality, and Lean
  • Collects data from area and accurately records it on charts, forms and any other MDI materials
  • Notify Production Leader of any tool or repair needs

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of plant level operations experience in a high mix/medium volume environment is preferred. 
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with familiarity with AS400, Microsoft office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Company certification(s) in assigned area
  • Other Requirements:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, wire diagrams, assembly directions, engineering and manufacturing decoders.
