ASRC Federal Advanced Research supports the FAA NAS (National Airspace System) SLES (Second Level Engineering Services) contract. Join our growing team as a Technical Writer in support of the Communications Team at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City!
Responsibilities:
- Developing, editing, and displaying technical materials, such as technical directives, technical manuals, specifications, and templates.
- Presenting Engineering information with unique formatting requirements in a manner suitable for the intended audience.
- Performing high level research on documents that are being generated or worked on.
- Tracking and analyzing documentation to ensure compliance with FAA policies/procedures.
- Assisting in development and maintenance of user training and procedure documents, as needed.
- Training others on processes and best practices.
- Assisting with coordination activities including distributing documentation for review, dispositioning, and implementing final documentation, tracking and related actions.
- Interviewing production and engineering personnel.
- Reading journals and other material to become familiar with product. Maintaining records and files of work and revisions.
- Updating documentation templates with current information. Researching casefiles and SRM information to verify documentation packages include appropriate information. Enthusiastically taking on additional tasks to help team as a whole meet deadlines.
Requirements:
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years. Ability to pass a background check is required. On-site presence will be as required by the FAA.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to use a stylebook encouraged.
- Ability to describe information in simple, clear language.
- Must be local to the Oklahoma City area or willing to relocate.
- Must be able to work primarily in office, with telework when applicable.
Education/Experience:
- An associate or bachelor’s degree; or High School diploma and equivalent experience in writing, editing, or publishing.
- An ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of direct experience performing technical writing or editing (equivalent to Technical Writer Level 2).
