    Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is currently recruiting for the position of Behavior Technician. These full-time, school year only, at-will positions will be responsible for providing classroom-based behavioral supports. The recommended candidates for these positions will receive a starting salary of $23.40 per hour, 75% district contribution toward medical and dental insurance, 100% contribution toward vision insurance, 12 paid sick days per year, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.

    Overview:

    Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is seeking candidates for the position of Behavior Technician. These full-time, school-year-only, at-will positions are responsible for providing classroom-based behavioral support to students. Selected candidates will receive training and ongoing support to effectively implement behavior intervention strategies.

    Qualifications:

    • Required to have Registered Behavior Technician or Paraprofessional Certification
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and use time effectively.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with administrators, team members, district staff, and students.
    • Reliable transportation to travel to various district sites as needed.
    • Consistent and reliable attendance.
    • Ability to obtain a certificate of good health and freedom from communicable diseases, as required by the Illinois School Code.

    General Description:

    The Behavior Technician provides proactive behavioral support to students, facilitates social-emotional learning, and fosters a positive, inclusive learning environment.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement individualized behavior plans.
    • Provide small group behavior interventions to support student needs.
    • Assist in the development of students' social-emotional learning and self-regulation skills.
    • Support data collection and progress monitoring for behavior interventions.
    • Participate in crisis response and de-escalation strategies as needed.
    • Implement evidence-based strategies to reinforce positive behavior and improve student outcomes.
