Aegon Asset Management outsources our Fund administration and Accounting function for our global business.  Effective oversight of the outsourced third-party service providers is not only a regulatory requirement, but also an extremely important risk mitigation activity for our business. 

We are seeking a Fund Accounting & Oversight Analyst who brings financial experience and expertise who is willing to grow and develop. This role offers you exposure to our Aegon Group Clients, external fund administrator, external auditors and Industry regulators, as well as working with multiple internal groups.

The team is based in Edinburgh and Schiphol this role will be based in Schiphol.

Responsibilities: (List below)

  • Key contact for completion of Financial Statements which will include the full end to end process from timetable creation, audit queries to arranging board sign-off
  • Contribute to the accurate and timely production of regulatory reporting
  • Oversea Expense management process across the various fund ranges
  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders; to increase awareness of the team and its processes, plus maintain and develop working relationships.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in various internal projects / change initiatives.
  • Actively support the collective growth of a team with great potential.

Required Qualifications:

You have experience as accountant, controller or reporting specialist within asset management at a financial institution or as auditor at a Big 4 audit firm. You understand the complexity of fixed income products and derivatives.
 
In addition, you have the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics or Accounting
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP is an advantage
  • Experience in working in an international, multinational environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (both written and oral)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications such as Excel and proficient in word, planner, co-pilot
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, able to deal with difficult problems
