Powering Reliable Manufacturing Through Skilled Mechanical Assembly!

MEPPI�s Switchgear Division (SWGD) is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Technician I � Pole Assembly to support the mechanical assembly of switchgear products. In this role, you will assemble components, support product preparation for electrical assembly and shipment, and ensure quality and safety standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.

What You�ll Do

Perform Mechanical Assembly: Assemble frames, bushings, and sub-assemblies for circuit breakers, parts orders, and related products in accordance with company specifications, drawings, and work orders.

Prepare Products for Shipment: Perform �ship-prep� activities, including applying RTV sealant, touching up paint, wrapping breakers, bushings, cabinets, and packaging products for shipment.

Use Tools Safely & Effectively: Operate a variety of hand and power tools correctly and safely to assemble components and products.

Read & Interpret Technical Documentation: Read and understand mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and bills of material (BOMs) to ensure accurate assembly.

Inspect & Test Assemblies: Inspect subassemblies and finished assemblies using visual inspection, measurement devices, and specialized test equipment; identify and correct defects as required.

Verify Materials & Processes: Confirm use of correct materials through inspection and parts lists; identify and resolve process or material discrepancies.

Complete Production Documentation: Accurately complete process check sheets, daily production reports, and required paperwork in accordance with company procedures.

Champion Safety & Quality: Maintain working knowledge of MEPPI�s Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and understand how they apply to daily tasks.

What You Bring

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Technical & Safety Skills:

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through effective use of hand and power tools
  • Required safety and operational training to operate machinery and equipment such as forklifts or cranes

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on safety and reliability
