The City of Topeka�s Utilities department is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented individual to serve as a Meter Services Dispatch professional. This position performs full range of standard and nonstandard assignments related to utility billing, administrative support and field employees dispatching.

What you�ll do:

  • Answer section phone calls and take appropriate action as required.
  • Responds to 2-way radio calls and assigns orders as needed.
  • Performs clerical duties associated with purchasing.
  • Generates, collects and processes data and maintains office records.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has excellent communication skills.
  • Is highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
  • Can work with a variety of external and internal customers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent required; a bachelor's degree or some college-level education from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • One (1) year of clerical experience is required.
  • Three (3) years of water industry field experience preferred.

Entry Rate of Pay: $16.61 - $16.94 per hour, DOQ.
