			Like Lewis and Clark, this role requires you to navigate situations and blaze a new trail.  You will forge new framework capabilities to move the mission forward.  The maps you create will help future developers and modelers navigate rough terrain and even the occasional black hole. You understand that charting a course is more than following a compass. Similarly, you understand that the software you develop must be more than a nice-looking UI; you develop efficient code, documented APIs, and follow established architectural patterns. When forging your trial, you must balance providing capabilities at the speed of relevance with the pursuit of perfection. Much like GPS has changed the way we navigate today, you will change how users interact with AFSIM using the latest architectural approaches, open-source tools, and custom developed code to deliver complete solutions to address user needs.  Just like the intrepid explorers of the early American West, you will need to manage your time, resources, and relationships to reach your destination. Along the way you will build relationships, representing AFSIM to that user community much like Lewis and Clark represented the U.S. on their trek. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, will provide you with the opportunity to embark on a journey developing AFSIM ensuring our continued national security.<br />

			<div><b>What You’ll Do:</b></div>

			<ul>
				<li>Develop and mature AFSIM framework capabilities with an enterprise mindset</li>
				<li>Design and implement new framework functionality, including plugin development</li>
				<li>Collaborate closely with government partners, contractors, and the user community, both on-site and virtually</li>
				<li>Represent AFSIM to the user community by listening, learning, and translating validated needs into engineered solutions</li>
				<li>Apply structured engineering processes to analyze requirements and deliver sustainable capabilities</li>
				<li>Develop clear documentation for both framework developers and end users</li>
			</ul>

			<div><b>Minimum Qualifications/What You’ll Bring:</b></div>

			<ul>
				<li>2+ years of hands-on experience developing and modifying the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)</li>
				<li>Demonstrated experience supporting U.S. government or military programs</li>
				<li>3+ years working in agile software development environments</li>
				<li>Strong proficiency in C++ and Python</li>
				<li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure), and issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira)</li>
				<li>Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance</li>
			</ul>

			<div><b>Education/Credentials:</b></div>

			<ul>
				<li>Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related discipline</li>
				<li>U.S. citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires U.S. government security clearance

					<li>Highly Desired/Preferred – Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance</li>

From that knowledge, depth, and breadth of understanding, you’ve gained a reputation as a cold-blooded developer capable of meeting deliverable times, hunting down and finding complex scripting issues, and sniffing-out trouble in proposed engineering solutions. You detest proprietary solutions from other vendors and reject them with great force.<br />

<div><b>What You’ll Do:</b></div>

<ul>
	<li>Configure digital representations of complex military systems to support operational utility, asset vulnerability, system integration, and concept of operations assessments within a synthetic simulation environment.</li>
	<li>Work with domain experts to understand the nuances of specific systems (or classes of systems) and use abstraction techniques to model them at the mission-level.</li>
	<li>Assemble known information when available and use engineering judgement to fill in the blanks to represent real world hardware, software, or processes used in military operations.</li>
	<li>You must be able to manage your time effectively and interface with customers regularly. In addition, beyond simply meeting project milestones and deadlines, the ideal candidate sees modeling &amp; simulation as a tool to empower decision makers and provides capabilities at the speed of relevance rather than endlessly pursuing “the perfect model”.</li>
	<li>Coordinate with other model specialist and developers to plug capabilities into a greater system-of-systems environment used to analyze large scale mission vignettes. In the process, you will become a subject matter expert in the system types that you model.</li>
