Job Summary:&nbsp;

Performs final, ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding and CPT procedure coding on Emergency Room, Outpatient Ancillary and/or Clinic encounters.&nbsp; Coders will assign facility levels and injection and infusion codes on required encounters.&nbsp; Coders help insure the data integrity of the patient&rsquo;s clinical record.&nbsp; Coders are responsible for the abstraction of ADT information at the time of final coding.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Coders must be able to effectively communicate with the medical staff, other departments, and teammates through queries, email, telephone, teleconference and/or face to face encounters. Certified Coders are responsible for maintaining continuing education hours necessary for current certifications.&nbsp; Coders are expected to research diagnosis and procedure techniques to ensure assignment of the appropriate ICD10 CM and CPT codes.&nbsp; Uses EPIC and 3M software to review the electronic medical record and the 3M encoder to code and calculate the billing APC in EPIC or the appropriate billing E&amp;M levels for clinics.&nbsp;&nbsp; Coders are expected to work cooperatively with other team members. Performs clerical duties as required or as designated by the Director, Manager or Supervisor.&nbsp; Coder will add deficiencies, work claim edits as well as denials.

The Revenue &amp; Training Specialist is a multifaceted role responsible for supporting audit processes, ensuring compliance, and providing education in medical coding and documentation standards. In this position, the employee will assist the Revenue Analyst with Procedure and Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) audits, ensuring that all audits are completed in a timely manner. The role also involves reviewing medical records for accuracy, quality assurance, and billing compliance, as well as conducting internal audits and staying current with policy and procedural guidelines to ensure proper coding practices are followed.&nbsp; The specialist will promote compliance by reviewing provider charts, delivering feedback and education to providers, and preparing and conducting training sessions for coders. In addition, the position provides support for the HCC Auditor by assessing medical records to determine appropriate HCC/ICD-10 codes and verifying compliance with healthcare policies and standards.&nbsp; Another key responsibility is providing medical coding instruction to coders, which includes developing curricula, creating PowerPoint presentations, leading educational sessions, and addressing coder questions. The role may also require assisting with coding work queues during staff absences, closeout periods, or when workload levels are elevated by management.
