This position allows for a hybrid arrangement with a mix of work from home and in the office. As a member of a multi-disciplined project team, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your background in Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineering and PLC/HMI software development and implementation by performing the following duties:<ul><li>Work on project teams with other discipline engineers involved in the design, fabrication, installation, and testing of new specialty equipment and processes equipment that is monitored and controlled by Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based control systems, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and other industrial control system platforms</li><li>I&C Field Engineering support during fabrication and FAT</li><li>I&C Field Engineering support during construction and acceptance testing</li><li>Troubleshoot and recommend electrical and control system hardware and software solutions</li><li>PLC/HMI Programming, Software V&V and Documentation</li><li>Support Factory Acceptance Testing and On-Site Acceptance Testing</li><li>Control System and Automation design</li><li>Develop your career via peer learning by way of S&L's systems of process and associated "Communities of Practice"</li><li>Travel to client offices and project sites, as required</li></ul>

Lead Automation & Control Systems Engineer 1

Lead Automation & Control Systems Engineer

US citizenship; ability to obtain security clearance; BSEE or ABET-accredited degree (MS preferred); 10+ years I&C/automation experience; PLC/RSLogix/ControlLogix; DOE/industrial facility experience.

Description:
This will be a full-time (5 days/week) on-site position at TRISO-X Fuel Fabrication Facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. You will be involved in nuclear power plant systems design, including preparation or review of:<ul><li>Modification packages for operating nuclear power plants</li><li>Functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems</li><li>Engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems</li><li>Technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment</li><li>Vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment</li><li>Studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants</li></ul> In addition, you will have the opportunity to:<ul><li>Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes</li><li>Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and make presentations related to engineering tasks and status</li><li>Lead engineering project teams</li></ul>

Qualifications:
We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Essential skills and experience: <ul><li>BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program</li><li>A minimum of 10 years of experience in the power industry</li><li>Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants</li><li>PE license is beneficial, but not required </li></ul>
