This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Engineering function. This position will report to Plant Manager.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>Assist in improving product quality and process efficiency through technical studies and experimentation</li><li>Improve process operations by providing technical support and process troubleshooting</li><li>Develop process designs and procedures for new products</li><li>Provide accurate and detailed reports for tests conducted</li><li>Assist in reviewing process designs and procedures to ensure safe and environmentally sound operation of the facility</li><li>Provide programming assistance for the process control computers in the plant</li><li>Understand and comply with plant safety and environmental policies. Report all safety, environmental and quality risks and hazards and chemical releases</li><li>Complete all activities in accordance with good manufacturing practices</li><li>Lead the facility’s continuous improvement program focusing on implementation of Lean manufacturing practices including 5S, visual management, Lean Six Sigma projects, and operations alignment</li></ul>In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:<ul><li>B.S. in Engineering or a related engineering degree</li><li>Good written and oral communication skills are required</li></ul>The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:<ul><li>B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years of engineering experience</li><li>Knowledge in programming PLCs and ladder logic.</li><li>Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques</li><li>Polymer chemistry</li><li>Bulk powder handling expertise</li></ul>Third-party recruiters and agencies (“Agency”) should not contact Ashland employees or employees of its subsidiaries directly.
