Provides quality and consistent data, produce report metrics and conduct analysis to make timely decisions, provide transparency, and develop strategies to balance service quality and sustainability, and drive innovation. &nbsp;The BI Developer and Operations Analyst works to identify performance trends, use datasets to analyze operations costs, staffing, effectiveness/ efficiency, and quality of service.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><div><p><strong>WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 24px;"><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Identify valuable data sources and automate data collection process using SQL stored procedures, data views.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Work cross-functionally with various departments to identify data/performance metric needs, design routine and ad-hoc reports, and analyze data.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Participate in Datawarehouse design process and O&amp;M support for CapMetro.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Document contents in a data warehouse and meta-data storage.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Identify and access source datasets relevant to demand response and innovative mobility analysis.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Use BI analytic software tools to program and develop reports and data analytics.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Create reports, dashboards, scorecards to meet functional area needs.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Document BI data analytics including data sources, definitions, methodology, procedures, validity/data integrity considerations.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Confer with persons originating, handling, entering, or receiving data to identify problems and resolve issues prior to advancing information.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Perform quality assurance checks on new and enhanced reports.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p><a name="_Hlk60144662">Uses GIS to create maps to visualize performance data.</a></p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Assist department management including the contracted services team with administrative review of contracts, ensuring receipt of complete and valid reporting through audit and documentation procedures.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Prepare monthly operating performance metric reports, including graphs, charts, and analysis.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Conduct trend analyses and provide summary reports to management.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Evaluate findings, using knowledge of contracts, operating practices, and industry business practices.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Coordinate the department collection of required National Transit Database (NTD) statistics and ensure that reports are accurate and completed within the timeframes required.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Develop and update technical documentation.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Recommend establishment of new or modified reporting methods, procedures, and documentation to improve daily business practices.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Research and compile data, statistical and other pertinent information for special projects, reports and presentations.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Assist with testing for software installations and upgrades in a timely manner ensuring the highest level of functionality for the end-users.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Support a safety culture by considering the needs and abilities of all passengers, ensuring the safe and effective provision of appropriate transportation services.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by following safety and security policies, considering safety in every action and reporting safety and security concerns.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Performs other duties as required.</p></li></ul></div><h3>Qualifications</h3><div><p><strong>WHAT YOU BRING</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 24px;"><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field. Related experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis up to four (4) years.</p></li><li class="ortl-align-justify"><p>Three (3) years of experience using programming software and a variety of automated office software including Oracle, SQL, MS Access, Data Visualization Tools, Visual Studio, and Excel. This position works with multiple project timelines and is responsible for managing employees performing work of a complex nature.&nbsp;</p><p>Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally. Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment.
