<p>We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team.  As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated software applications using Python, C#, C++, and Linux. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and user-friendly applications that meet our clients' needs. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position. </p>
<p>This position reports to the Manger of Software Systems.</p>
<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities </strong></p>
<ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Python, C#, C++, and Linux.</li><li>Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.</li><li>Optimize code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.</li><li>Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.</li><li>Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain at the forefront of innovation.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.</li><li>Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and practices.</li></ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Competencies</strong></p>
<ul><li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>7+ years of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on Python, C#, C++, and Linux.</li><li>Proficiency in Python, C#, and C++.</li><li>Experience with Linux operating systems and development environments.</li><li>Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.</li><li>Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li></ul>
<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications: </strong></p>

This position supports systems integration and development testing for the Testing Infrastructure Group (TIG). TIG at NSWC Crane provides specialized, high-reliability facilities and engineering expertise for the full life cycle --design, development, test, and evaluation --of Navy strategic systems, electronic warfare, and weapon systems. They focus on critical testing for radiation hardening, hardware-in-the-loop, and complex electronic systems to ensure mission success. You will be working onsite in a fast paced and dynamic environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential. SECRET to CLEARANCE Requirement: Interim Secret to start.
