PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Test Engineering Lead will perform the following functions:
<ul><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Work with the TE Manager to establish priorities for work done by the Test Engineers</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Act as the SME for test development, advising the Test Engineers with regards to difficult issues in the test process and failures that are a challenge to troubleshoot</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Represent the QMN Test Engineering team in meetings with customers and keep abreast of issues affecting product testing so as to accurately report on these</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Contribute to the test development effort for specific projects, including scripting where appropriate and needed.</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Become adept at retrieving and analyzing test data to reveal issues that cause frequent fails and/or hangs during the test process</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Work with corporate R&D and Test Engineering teams to improve test strategy, reducing test time where possible without sacrificing quality</li><li class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="text-indent:-0.25in">·         Guide the creation of work instructions and online documentation for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing products</li></ul>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"><li class="MsoNormal">Identifies issues affecting test efficiency and works with the TE Manager to determine priorities of addressing these</li><li class="MsoNormal">Help to keep TE team focused on these issues as they are identified</li><li class="MsoNormal">Provides leadership for all tests and diagnostics used in product engineering, manufacturing, returned material repair and supplier quality</li><li class="MsoNormal">Develops and maintains automated test processes as necessary, alongside other Test Engineers</li><li class="MsoNormal">Analyzes failure reports and makes recommendations to improve the test process as well as quality assurance processes, practices and procedures</li><li class="MsoNormal">Makes good technical decisions and completes tasks & assignments under only general direction </li><li class="MsoNormal">Recognize problems that need further investigation, seek assistance when needed, demonstrate initiative and self-motivation</li><li class="MsoNormal">Independently determine and develop approach to solutions, under only very general direction</li><li class="MsoNormal">Provide solutions for wide range of difficult problems </li><li class="MsoNormal">Ensure common test tool set is developed for use in manufacturing and service</li></ul>
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"><li class="MsoNormal">Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent discipline, or alternatively 3 years of experience in Software Development.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience in leadership roles, whether as team lead, supervisor, or mentor</li><li class="MsoNormal">Demonstrable skills and the ability to discuss, in depth, the technical aspects of project experience </li><li class="MsoNormal">A proven track record of high productivity in test programming and debugging </li></ul>
 
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with Python scripting and Linux shell scripts to test computer hardware and verify hardware configurations</li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with server architecture including: hardware, firmware and drivers </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with network technologies and protocols, switches, routers etc.</li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with PXE boot process, Automated Test Network, and OS download</li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience, and solid understanding of the hardware product development lifecycle, software development methodologies, change management, release management, configuration management</li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience with client / server environments </li></ul>

<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"><li class="MsoNormal">Able to bend and stoop while troubleshooting servers in the rack</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ability to walk and stand on cement floors for long periods</li><li class="MsoNormal">Able to lift 25lb servers in and out of racks</li><li class="MsoNormal">Able to work in a noisy environment under a wide range of temperatures</li></ul>
