South Shores Animal Hospital is growing and we are seeking a Veterinary Exam Room Assistant to join our team!

In this client-facing, patient-focused role, you�ll support our doctors during appointments while helping create a smooth, efficient exam room experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on patient care and client interaction in a fast-paced environment.

What You�ll Do:

• Gather patient history and ensure accurate, thorough documentation
• Obtain TPRs and assist in maintaining complete medical records
• Prepare exam rooms, set up for treatments, and break down/clean between patients
• Assist doctors during exams and treatments
• Perform basic patient care tasks such as ear cleanings, nail trims, and administering oral medications
• Support overall hospital flow to keep appointments running on time

Schedule:

This is a flexible full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and Saturday availability required from 8am-5pm.

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

• Compensation: $16-18 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• Previous veterinary or animal care experience is required
• Interest in a career in veterinary medicine with ongoing training
• Familiarity with Cornerstone software is a plus!

We strive to provide warm, compassionate, high-quality care in addition to excellent client service. We offer medical care, boarding, and grooming for small animals as well as exotics, and have rehabilitation and reproduction services available. Our hospital is well equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, surgical laser & cold laser, and recently underwent an expansion of our treatment area. Our dedicated team is supportive, easy going and fun to work with.
