Foster Care Family Services Supervisor



Wolverine Human Services | Full-Time | Exempt | Michigan

This Role Matters:



This role leads impact. At Wolverine Human Services, we help children and families move toward safety, stability, and permanency. As a Foster Care Supervisor, you guide and support Case Managers in delivering high-quality services that directly affect outcomes for children in care.



This role is both leadership-focused and hands-on. You will coach staff, support decision-making, and ensure compliance while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.





This role includes:




  • Supervising and supporting Foster Care Case Managers

  • Ensuring compliance with licensing, contractual, and agency standards

  • Providing guidance on case planning, assessments, and service delivery

  • Supporting permanency planning efforts across assigned cases

  • Coaching staff through complex cases and ethical decision-making

  • Reviewing documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

  • Participating in quality assurance and corrective action planning

  • Supporting staff training, onboarding, and professional development

  • Collaborating with DHHS, courts, and community partners

  • Responding to urgent or after-hours needs as required



What Success Looks Like:




  • Supporting staff to meet or exceed performance and compliance standards

  • Ensuring accurate, timely, and complete documentation

  • Maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality

  • Acting as a mandated reporter under Michigan law

  • Providing regular feedback and completing performance evaluations

  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and professional team environment

  • Participating in required training and quality assurance activities

  • Being available to respond to urgent needs on a 24-hour basis, as required
