POSITION SUMMARY

The Seasonal Demonstrator is responsible for conducting culinary demonstrations/admissions presentations at high schools and vocational/technical schools throughout the country to influence prospective students to apply and enroll at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA).

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to regions of the country in support of the CIA Admissions department to conduct culinary demonstrations and Admissions presentations for prospective students, parents, educators and/or school counselors.
  • Conduct/participate in various recruitment events including high school visits, college fairs and receptions to sell the CIA experience to prospective students.
  • Work in collaboration with assigned Admissions Counselors and Admissions Office to effectively execute assigned recruitment events.
  • Confirm travel arrangements, appointment times and details of school visits with school/educator.
  • Manage administrative duties regarding travel expense documentation, expense reports, and written feedback about each school visit.
  • Maintain regular contact with supervisor.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Associates degree from the Culinary Institute of America.

Licenses / Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License with no more than one (1) moving violation in the past year.
  • Must be eligible for car rental services in all states (minimum 21 years of age, license in good standing)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a high school vocational program.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Higher education working experience.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation/public speaking skills required.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong administrative abilities.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds as needed.
  • Able to travel extensively throughout the U.S.
  • Must be available to work a flexible work schedule which will include nights and weekends as needed.
